Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says getting vaccines out into the community is Prime Minster Scott Morrison’s “only chance” to gain back lost ground.
It comes after the latest Essential Poll found less than half of Australians think the federal government’s pandemic response has been good.
The figure dropped down to 46 per cent, despite being at 70 per cent in March.
Mr Clennell said there is “still a bit of confidence” in the federal government to increase the vaccine supply.
“But I certainly hear a lot of suggestions there’s concerns that they haven’t got the infrastructure in place at the federal or state level to deliver it into arms,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“That’s the challenge over the next few months.”
